In Canada, maternity leave is almost up to a year with some sort of partial payment (it is my assumption), while in the USA, the standard leave is six weeks with no established pay. I know that the medical system in Canada is run by the government, but how can there be such a HUGE difference in the amount of time allowed to a new mother???

That's because we are tooo busy taking care of other countries !!! Very sad we don't take care of our own.

Canada is more concerned with the mother-baby bond while the u.s. is more worried about money.

the answer is simple and a no brainer...america sucks

Americans have to work harder to subsidize Canada through foreign aid, NAFTA, etc.


Aside to a previous answerer, if America sucks, then why are you still here? Move to Somalia.
