I was introduced to my fiance through Findsomeone.com. We chatted on line for a couple of months then she finally agreed to give me her phone number and real name. We talked on phone for a couple of weeks and then met face to face. It was wonderful meeting this woman who I had found intriguing. We continued seeing each other and now spend each and every weekend together (as we live 2.5 hours apart) and are getting married on May 20 of this year. It has been 3 years since I met her there. Prior to chatting with this woman I was chatting with others who had other agendas on line and did chat with a lot of users and losers. She and I will both tell you that we are not foolish enough to believe that we actually fell in love on line (as we both agree it is an impossibility, but did find a great interest in each other. It worked for us and I'm certain it has for lots of others also, but my only suggestion would be to be careful when chatting with people on line about how much personal information you give them. As well be very wary of what others are telling you as anyone can be anybody they choose with this medium.

I actually tried Craigslist. About 90% of the people on there have some serious issues. I got a few good dates, but nothing really promissing. 10% still provides a chance of something good, so I wont absolutely knock it.
Now I could have tried a pay site. As I would expect people there to be a little more serious if they are paying. Do a search online though and you will find numerous complaints of scams for all those sites.
Moral of the story; go out and meet someone.

I did! When I finally decided to start dating again two years ago, I joined match, eharmony, and yahoo personals. I did not like eharmony at all! They matched me up with a total of 5 guys in a one year period and I didn't hit it off with any of them. They don't let you look through the singles, you have to wait and see if they send you any. I liked yahoo, but there were not as many men to choose from. I met the most men on match--11 over a one year period. The 11th one was it! We met last January 29th and spent 5 hours talking on our first date. The funny thing is, when I left that evening I had made up my mind that I wouldn't go out with him again because he wasn't really my type. Also, he had just had his heart broken and I didn't want to be the rebound girl, so I told him I didn't think I wanted to date him. He was persistent and we hung out as friends for five or six more dates, then one day I decided I liked him enough to risk heart break. I am so glad I did. He had been on match for 2 years, so finding someone doesn't always happen overnight. I'd say be patient and give guys a chance. It's not always love at first sight.
Best of luck!

yes, I did. We met on match.com, but I posted the initial free profiles on match, yahoo, date, and plenty of fish ( which is always free and a good one) Then I waited to see what kind of response there was. I chose to spend for one month of each of the premuim services. ( basically the cost of a meal) In that time I met about 20 men who interested me and found a great one. We have been together for 10 months. Good luck

I tried both sites for six months. I got two gentile men who's profile fit mine. They never responded to the call...ironically I met both in person by accident in my state. Neither one of them stayed with the sites and dropped out before they were posted to me. Scam! waste of money. Have you tried Yahoo personals. I have met several men, dated and am now in a serious relationship. You don't know what will happen until you try. Please take my advise BE CAREFUL

No, I don't know of anyone who has met their mate, but there are probably some. The cost of the service far outweighs the benefit. There is a free site www.plentyoffish.com. Good luck.

I met a girlfriend on MySpace.
Started out really great. Went sour very suddenly and ended pretty badly... and then all the skeletons started crawling out of her closet.
But hey, better to have loved and lost than to never love at all, right?

I have at least three friends who met their boyfriend or girlfriend this way. Two of the couples are living together and the other couple is almost engaged. It does happen! (They used match.com, nerve.com, and salon.com.)
