Lets face it. Christianity is the only religion based on fearing a vengeful God with an ego that will punish you if you don't believe in him. If you question him for a minute as you are supossed to question everything in your life(or you'll fall for anything), then he will send you to a made up place with fire called Hell. I have studied the Bible more than anyone I've know and I've studied history. Most bible stories are moral fables stolen from old Egyptian fables which were around way before this Jesus guy walked the earth. Theres even a fable about smashing a snakes head that try to tempt somebody, which is older than anything in the bible. I can come up with a million inconsitances in the Bible and contradictory statements. If people went on faith, then you'd have faith that a parachute will save you from jumping off a building. It's funny how the bible is full of rasicm and sexism, yet people who are against that stuff believe in it.

If i lived in a forest without outside communication, i'd never know about this guy called god, jesus whatever. That proves there isnt one. Faith is unnatural, unless is based on something that is true or was true before.

GE 6:5-6 God was not pleased with his creation.

They don't care about proof...faith isn't about what can be proven. But the thing they have to understand is that other people can believe what they want and they should have no room to say anyone else is wrong because they don't feel a need to be proven that Islam is wrong. to them it just is. Or anything else for that matter. I think its so funny that when it comes to everything else scientific in life they accept it...but when it goes against what they believe the freak out. Ex. They will accept any Cancer treatments that science brings forth or they accept the theory of Gravity...but if Science proves evolution they say "NO WAY!" we don't believe or trust you.

There are answers to all your accusations.
1. The bible does not teach a burning hell. Now that doctrine
is taken from ancient Babylonian teachings.
2. God wants us to study the bible and question things.
3. There is a first human pair and a flood story in every
civilzation. Could this not because it is true and was past
down through out history. Why assume it's the other
way around. Did you every consider that there is an error
in the dating of ancient material. Unless, the date is on
the material, does any man really know when it was written?
We know the year Adam was created from the bible.
4. Most books of the bible were written long before Jesus lived.
The first five books were written by Moses in 1513 B.C.E.
to 1473 B.C.E.. Although, Jesus does refer to Adam and
Noah, that they actually existed. There is prove from other
writings that Jesus existed, then why not Adam and Noah.
5. The bruising of the serpents head at Gen. 3:15 (first
prophecy in the bible) also speaks of the Woman's seed
which would be bruised in the heel. This is speaking
of Jesus who died, but was resurrected 3 days later. So
a heel wound was not fatal. However, the serpent or Satan
will have a head wound, which will mean complete
destruction for him and his seed.
6. The bible is not full of rasicm or sexism. God is not partial.
The any referenced to rasicm was derogatory. Jesus
preached to the Jews using the illlustration of the Good
Samaritan. Jesus always showed respect for woman.
5. There are no inconsistancies in the creation account.
Chapter 2 is just recounting what God had done.
Nor in the rest of the bible. You need to consider the
surrounding verses, who wrote it.
It seems to me that your mind is made up on the matter, however, consider these two scriptures, which I'm sure you've read:
"I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to babes." Matt 11:25
"If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through." 2 Cor. 4: 3 & 4

Had it ever occurred to you that if those stories have been around for so long, there must be some truth in them?
No?
Didn't think so.....
Did you know that the Bible has some very accurate history, some philosophy, some allegory, some prophecy, some poetry...it isn't all "literal"?
No?
Didn't think so....
Do you really think you've read and studied the Bible more than anyone else here?
I highly doubt it....
I'll bet you're really a pretty smart guy...and there's not a thing wrong with that. However, intellect isn't everything.
I'll bet you can be a really nice guy, too, when you wanna be...when that big head of yours isn't getting in your way.
I know you probably don't wanna hear it, but, believe it or not, I intend to pray for you...before I answer another question.

I believe the Bible is the Living Word of God. I will not argue about this, as you have firmly planted your feet on the sands of unbelief. The God you speak of is not the God I know. Yes, there are terrible things in the Bible, but there are terrible things happening today. God is a part of all this. He is faithful and more than willing to accept any one as His child. Jesus is my Lord and Savior and I know He is real because He helps me live each day. I have planted my feet on the Rock of my salvation, Christ.

I believe in God. I do not believe everything the bible says. I believe the bible is filled with moral stories such as "be a good person" "forgive" "love thy neighbor" I do not think it should be taken literally. I dont think God will send you to hell if you question his exsistance for every one minute, we were given free thought and free will for a reason. I dont think the God is an ego maniac or that he is angry or vengeful. I believe God loves all of his children even those who choose to deny him.
Can I just add, your question sucks, why spend time insulting people who believe in God or the bible, its what they believe, it gives them comfort and purpose so leave them alone. I could jump down your throat for not believing but what good would that do, you have your beliefs and I can respect them, just as you should respect the beliefs of everyone else, even if you think they are wrong.
By the way it does not matter if the bible contradicts itself a thousand times, it was written by man and not by God.
The what you call "racism sexism and lies" in the bible were put in there by the bibles creator MAN not by GOD.

Any good scholar never says, "I have studied" something "more than anyone"....... I've studied history a lot too and the more I learn about it the more I realize how little I know. No matter what you study, or how much you study it, there are people who dwarf your knowledge. When you truly know history, you do not boast about your knowledge because you know how much other people know and that you are just quoting their knowledge.

There are thousands of fulfilled prophecies in the Bible and when I turned from my sins and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, I was born again, I was born of the Spirit of God- that's one way that I know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

Yes, of course they do.
We nonbelievers have to get over the assumption that truth matters to everyone. Religious belief isn't about what is and is not true - believers don't care at all if what they believe is false (though of course only a very few will admit to that fact).
There's nothing subtle about the falsehood of the Bible. You don't have to examine it closely to know that it's false - the large, important claims (existence of God, creator of universe, life after death, etc.) are so obviously false that looking for subtle inconsistencies and the like is a silly pasttime.

I don't know what would be worse, if the Bible were false, or if were true. I mean if it's true I either end up in hell, or heaven with Christians, sigh.

Or perhaps you read it with a tightly closed and prejudiced mind.
