No more than humans.

Not usually. I have yet to see a film called "Raging Pit Bull".

There was one based on a Stephen King novel called Cujo, about a rabid dog. Also, in The Lion King ( Disney ), Mufasa's alter ego brother Scar was portrayed in a very poor light.

Animals are generally portrayed as very positive and cute because for the most part animals are innocents. Most animals simply don't have the capacity for evil that humans can possess, largely because they don't have our intelligence. Perhaps they're luckier in that regard.

Only by having to co-star with Dakota Fanning!

Seriously, though, I think I read that Steven Spielberg regrets the effect the Jaws movies have had on the shark population.

There are lots of animals that could use better lobbying with the film industry:
wolves (brilliant, loyal and monogamous creatures),
tigers (they're only trying to find something to eat),
tarantulas (they actually don't bite humans),
snakes, snakes, snakes (many of them deserve the bad rap but most don't),
giant squids and octopi (the closest we can come to sea monsters)
hyenas and jackals (they can't help it if they're ugly and eat dead things)
buzzards (thank goodness they do eat dead things or we would have all died from the diseases they carry).
leeches (what jungle movie is complete without them)
humans (probably the only animals that deserve their bad rap)

Probably lots more that I just can't think of.
