Nope. You are already a part of God. All you need to do is realize it.
The idea that you are separate from God is just a lie about our relationship with God that religion tells.

Im sure I will get a bunch of thumbs down going against the norm but here it goes....
God WANTS a relationship with us. People don't believe in God for many reasons but the main one is that He doesnt make our lifes rosey. Often times people reach out to Him and feel they hear no answer. The reality is that the answer is "no". We think we know best but we don't. We are like Gods children and he is the perfect parent. We do not always give our children what THEY think they need because we know more and know what is best for them.
Getting off the tangent however, your answer is no, death is not the only way. The Bible is the "word" of God. Read it and listen to him. I admit it is overwhelming and tough so find someone that has a relationship with God and learn from them. But let me warn you. They are not perfect, they, like everyone, will be hypocrites. But that does not mean they do not have a relationship with God. It means they are flawed, imperfect. I wish you well in your search.

Yes, because if there is a god then death is the only way to reach it. If someone thinks they can reach god at any time during their life, they have a delusional belief. That's my opinion.

No. Because God lives within you. All you have to do is be true to yourself, and don't do anything to deliberately harm anyone, including yourself. I find that when faced with difficult situations I repeat the following "The God in me is going to make everything alright" Works for me.
Good luck and God bless!

No it is not. God has made a path to Himself for all men to be able to reach Him and know Him in person, not just being able to know about Him. Since God has made the first move in opening Himself up to having a personal relationship with anyone that wants to know Him, the choice is now up to each and every one of us. We each, individually, accept or reject the path to God that He has established that is freely given and offered to all mankind.
Have you learned of this path to God that He makes available to you and the rest of mankind as well? In your heart and your mind have you accepted or rejected this offer from God?

Not at all. Not even in death are we guaranteed that priviledge.
It's life that we have that opportunity to connect to the great Divine and hear the voice of THE ONE who gave us Life.
I AM THAT I AM

Death is the only way to die. Whether or not we reach God that way is highly debatable.
