I'll tell you what, I love food too...and yes, it is difficult to eat healthy if you love eating all kinds of foods.
Honestly, I still haven't stopped eating all the things I love to, however, I really have stopped eating AS MUCH of the foods I love. Pizza is one of my favorite foods (hey, to each their own)...I used to eat an entire large pizza to my dome back in college, but as I've gotten older, I notice that I'll eat maybe two slices at the most. Of course, as I've gotten older, my metabolism isn't really what it used to be. But cutting down the volume of food will make a big difference.
Finding the balance between eating healthy, and eating what you love is difficult. But like I said, it's all about portions.

Sometimes you're gonna eat stuff that isn't good for you. It happens, you're not going to be perfect all the time. The thing is, the majority of your diet needs to be really good so that things like that don't trip you up. And every once in a while means, a few times a month. If you make sure most of your meals are full of veggies, you can stuff yourself to the gills with minimal calories, you'll be so full you won't want to pig out later on other stuff. I love food, and I eat a lot, and constantly. But I pay attention to what I eat. I can have a huge bowl of food for dinner, but it's tomatoes, onions, black beans, chicken, and peppers. I eat at least one or two apples a day at work to hold that growling tummy at bay. I also make sure to eat almonds or a peanutbutter sandwich, something with some good fats in it, to satisfy the tummy a bit longer than just a piece of fruit can do on it's own. If you just take care of the majority of your diet, you can have little treats now and then...but not, like, a whole cake. If you feel really bad about something you ate, work it off. Go run a few miles, lift some weights, do some yoga, but earn it. People ask me "why won't you have one of these cookies, candies, brownies ect?", and I always reply, "because I don't have the time to put in an hour on the treadmill tonight". You can have it, if you're willing to earn it. You're not permanently screwed just because you had a cupcake.

I have the same problem. Here's what I do;
Plan ahead. Plan your meals and your snacks based on what you know is healthy. Also, plan your "treats"
Eat frequently. Every 2 to 4 hour hours have either a meal or a snack.
Eat a variety. Protein in the morning is key for avoiding hunger and cravings. Eat fresh fruit and veggies, cheese, yogurt, nuts, lean meat, whole grains.
When you do have a treat, have what you really like. (if you like pizza, don't get a cheap frozen one from Walmart, get a pizza from the Greek restaurant down the street. If you like burgers, don't go to McD's, get a good burger and don't go for the fries and pop just because it's a meal deal or whatever) And consider your portions. Don't eat the whole pizza. Eat two pieces and enjoy it fully.
It's good to love food. Food is good. And studies have shown that people who enjoy their food digest it better, so dig in!
Remember it's about lifestyle, it's not about one food or one kind of food being a villian.

It's not about making sure you don't eat certain foods, try to limit how much you eat of it. Say that you really like cake. Instead of having the largest slice cut, get a small slice, about 3-4 bites. And try to eat that after you have a nice tall glass of water. That way you feel full and don't have the taste of the water in your mouth but the taste of the cake instead. If you take your favorite foods out of your eating habit, you are destined to fail. Everyone has favorite foods. Just watch the calorie intake or portion control, whichever term makes more sense to you.

Food is good. Don't eliminate so called "bad foods" from your diet. It will only make you crave them more. Instead, limit how much you eat of them. Eat healthy meals (lean chicken, whole-wheat bread and pasta, veggies, salad, etc) and allow yourself a treat every now and then. One or two cookies or a small cup of low-fat chocolate ice cream isn't going to kill you.
Join an online support group like sparkpeople.com where a lot of people have emotional eating problems and can help you out. It also has an online tracker to keep count of your calories and weight.
