They only gave me a court date, no notice of fees.

You should weep for joy if it is only $100 or so like the previous answer. In a city that has PARKING fines close to $100 you can expect a larger gift from Mayor Newsom.

The officer did you a favor by writing it for only 10 miles over the limit... any higher and you move into another category..

BUT...

Better figure on something between $200 and $300 (plus the brownie points on your license).

Check your notice... that court date is likely for entering a plea (not for the trial if you want one). You can speed things up by entering a plea by mail and they will give you the bail amount (which is generally the maximum fine amount).

good luck...

check your ticket, usually the amount of fine is written by the officer on the ticket

my friend just got a speeding ticket doing 110 in a 90 zone, his fine is $90, and also 3 demerit points
