Estrogen indicators are:
body fat distribution -- higher estrogen causes the fat to be deposited lower on the body, in the hips and thighs rather than in the belly and face.
lack of facial bone development -- higher estrogen causes the skull to grow more slowly during puberty, resulting in a smaller jaw, no brow ridges, eyes that appear larger, and a nose that appears smaller.
Pronounced female secondary sex characteristics -- a higher voice, softer skin, larger breasts, softer and more streamlined musculature, less facial and body hair.
Not coincidentally, many of these traits are taken as marks of female beauty in various cultures. This is because they are indicators of reproductive fitness and fertility. So in many cultures, women accentuate these traits by clothes, makeup, jewelry, and behavior. Most don't know why they're doing it, any more than the birds know why they do their mating dances. But it's programmed in us by genes and culture, to attain the goal of passing along one's genes and thus ensuring survival.
