Hi! Make sure you have a wee bit extra water in the mince, so it doesnt stick. I do the granules after the dumplings usually. Anyway, just sit the dumplings on top of the mince, dont worry if they sink a bit, not a problem. Put a lid on the pot and simmer for as long as it takes the tatties to boil. Simple as that!
If you want to check theyre cooked through, just insert a knife, itll come out sticky if theyre still dough in the centre, give them a bit longer then. mmmm I want that for dinner now!

ps. for the future, Id suggest you cook the mince with the onion and a bit of water for about twenty mins BEFORE the potatoes go on, it just cooks the mince down nicer :) Then pop the dumplings on when the tatties are starting to boil. I thicken the mince with the granules after Ive taken the dumplings out, so the mince doesnt stick to the pot while the granules are in it.

Just drop the the dumplings in the mince about 20-25 minutes before you want to dish up. Keep the mince simmering and cover pot with a lid as it's the steam that cooks the dumplings..
Bon appetite.

I fry mince with the onions, until onions opaque, then I add the potatoes, vegetables, with a beef cube crumbled in a pint and cook until slightly aldente. then I add a little more stock if needed and place in the dumplins to soak up the rich gravy. /thicken with granules when dumplins are cooked. then enjoy. Try making herby dumplins to accommpany the mince. delicious.
