I think you're supposed to get it cut every 6 - 8 weeks, but I have longish hair and can get away with a trim every 6 -12 months.

To keep your hair looking its best you should have a haircut every 6 - 8 weeks maximum.
This gets rid of split ends and keeps your hair looking great.
In very serve cases if you never have a haircut the split ends will eventually takeover and you could loose your hair.

Hope this helps

About once every 5-6 weeks, I have a No. 1 All over, so when it gets long enough to have to comb it neat in the morning, I shave it all off again. Makes life easy!

Depending on the speed of growth of your hair, as a rule you should have your hair shaped at least every 4 weeks. This helps keep the hair ends healthy as it rids the hair strand of any splitting. BTW, this applies to those who are growing their hair long, they should still get it shaped though in that case they can extend it to perhaps 6 weeks tops.
