Is it that rare for somebody to have actually read the entire Bible. I have not met 1 Christian in person, not 1, who has read the entire Bible. I have met a few atheists and a Muslim who have read it and I have met a lot more Christians than atheists and Muslims together.

Why do some people think that every question has to prove something?

All I have left to read is 1 & 2 Kings.

My mother read the Bible in its entirety 5 times.

But, to expand on your question. There's a big difference between "reading" and "absorbing".

Yeah, I guess if you want to start from the beginning, and read straight through without digging deep, comparing Scriptures, doing some research, relating it to your life, praying about it, reflecting on it, learning from it, nor applying it to your daily walk, yeah, I guess you could read the entire Bible in a month, if you put yourself to it.

It's not how fast you read it, or how much you read, or whether-or-not you have read the whole Bible at once, but rather what you get out of what you read.

It's not a contest, or a feat you need to conquer. I read the same passages over and over again, and each time I do, I learn something more.

Because the Word is alive.

Just about the only Christian you'll find who's read and studied the entire bible is an EX-Christian. Of course, there are some rare exceptions, some radical fundies I've debated in the past seem to be well versed; but then again they also were a little out of touch with reality.

Well , it is a very interesting question , you are a scientist...Actually all the people are experts in something.I can say something that might interest you.I think that atheists are atheists because either they didn't read the Bible , or they don't understand the meaning of words.Words are the most powerfull things and it is imposiible not to realise when God is speaking and not a common man .

And as about the Christians who didn't read the Bible but they are really Christians , I can say that they didn't read it because they already know it ,God is talking to them , inside their minds , and they listen to Him , and know how to behave ...
To Christians , every word of the Bible is very heavy ,because it comes from God , and they think of every word , that is why they didn't read the whole Bible yet .To an atheist is smth not that great ... and they cannot tell you important informations from the bible(reffering to the things God wants to be known) , because they don't remember them , because they considered them smth that is not definite real... and our mind can learn only what is important to us..and real . .Adler said smth like this ,that we pay attention only to something that is important to us . although I am not very found of these ..psychologists...So something that is important to me , can be ....not important for you...and you have nothing to say on it...and you have no idea that such a thing exists and what it means , although you read it ...I name it :mechanical reading...
We have the freedome from God to be interested in what we wish . But the school doesn't respect this freedome ...

Well then, come here to dallas texas , and meet me, I have, and can introduce you to a host of others who have, I have the Bible on CD as well as 4 translations and I listen and read at the same time.
You obviously are lying or not have made any real attempt to look for Christians who have read the bible all the way through.

I study very often and have an Assoc degree in Biblical theology and working towards a Bach degree.

Actually I have read it through entire more than once. However what God really looks at is that we follow the truth that we know. So if someone has not read through the entire book they are held accountable for what they know to be truth- which is every word that comes out of the mouth of God. Reading the bible does not save you, as the Pharisees thought- it is Jesus whom the scriptures were written to point us too.

Unfortunately this is a sad yet true fact. However, I have read the bible from cover to cover and I am a Christian. How do you do? I know this is not a physical meeting but we are able to meet via the Internet.

It is when we read the bible that we are able to renew our minds and learn about the truth claims of God that we say we believe, yet most of us are not able to stand on them very well because we don't really know what they are since we do not read the bible regularly and apply God's wisdom and knowledge to our daily life.

The end result is that our faith is weak and our testimony shallow. It is no wonder that God seems powerless and weak to most Americans.

I've read the entire Bible several times, but you and I have never met, so I don't count.

My guess is that the atheists and the Muslim who told you they had read the entire Bible were fibbing.

I have read the Bible through, in its entirety several times. So has my husband and his entire family, as well as my sister and mother and their husbands. I assume that most of the people I go to church with have too although I couldnt say that I KNOW they have. And no, I am not a Bible thumber and I hope I treat everyone just the way the Bible tells us to - as we would like to be treated.

Apparently you are hanging around in the wrong places. The church I attend has a men's program in which (amoung other thigs) we each read through the Bible once ever year. The program has about 200 men currently in it. Have been doing this for the enitre 25 years I have been attending the church.

I will be glad to hook you up if you are interested...
