fiber-cement is harder to work with (hang), but will last a lot longer, and look a whole lot better. Vinyl will always look like vinyl. If doing it yourself (no labor costs) and have someone to help you, cement board is a clear winner. James Hardie website has installation instructions.

Sears vinyl, just had it done, absoutly love it, especially the life time warranty, was worth the cost.

The new concrete board siding is fabulous !! Check it out on the net !!! Other types rot or dent or fly off in storms !
