I use steack knifes for cutting every thing. I was chopping carrots the other day and cut my self, be cause the knife was dull.

i bought a good set in Kohls, but can find same ones in Bed Bath n Beyone or Linens and Things .... Farberware, and they are a whole complete set, steak knives, carving knives and cutting knives, come in a block with a sharpening tool. I love mine.

You can get a good knife set (made out of good steel, that can be sharpened and will hold an edge) with the basic "cooking" knives beginning at around $250 and can range much higher. (Though the more expensive sets will generally have more knives.) Most good sets will come with a knife block and a set of matching steak knives. Make sure they are good carbon steel, and not anything "plated".

Furi Knives are the BEST! All you will need for everything is a 7-5 inch and a good paring knife.

Tool of the Trade around 30 bucks when on sale at macys. best time to buy knife sets are during the black friday sale right after thanksgiving.
thats when i got mine. and it is great! includes everything u need. plus a knife sharpner.

A really nice set can cost you hundreds.I go to Ross and buy my knives and I keep them hung on a knife strip.The way you wash and store your knives can dull the blade quickly.You need to take care of goon knives

the best place to buy them is off price drop tv if u got cable i bought some 3 weeks ago original retail price was £185 got them for £20 plus they have 25 year gurantee you just have tookeep an eye on what comes up in the lots coz they sell allsorts check it out if u can

A good cheap knife set is Chicago Cutlery about $75, a good expensive knife set is German Henkel about $500.

Do you want a set of steak knives or kitchen chef knives? I have a set of Henckels, which are great. My brother-in-law is a chef & sommelier and he prefers Wustof.
