I could not find such options on all the websites I checked. By the way, does anyone know how much more expensive would an open-ticket be comparing to an ordinary round trip ticket?

You can book open return with any of the major carriers by calling their reservations line. These fare choices never show up on the Internet because they are so much more expensive than a regular coach ticket; airlines are afraid that potential customers may see that price tag and choose to fly with another carrier. An open return fare varies just like a regular, restricted fare does but an example: a traditional roundtrip ticket from DC to LA is about $240 and an open return is about $3200.

Almost all American carriers, and nearly all reputable foriegn carriers have abolished "open" tickets. At least in the sense of the way you are thinking of an open ticket. The only thing you can do is pay the outrageous price for a "full coach" ticket. That would make your ticket fleixble enough that you could always change the reutrn date without paying extra. You would still have to plug dates in though.

most scheduled airlines do them - go to the airlines web site as opposed to a travel agents site . Depending on which country you want to go to - usually around 25% more expensive sometimes more.
