I've been taking OTC naproxen (2 tablets) twice daily for pain and inflammation resulting from a C6-C7 herniation. My doctor has now put me on a 6-day pack of methylprednisolone, a steroid, and she said I don't need to take the naproxen anymore.
Unfortunately, without the naproxen, I can't get through the day very well because of the pain. (I'm also taking tylenol, but no other pain meds except for vicodin - one pill at night only.)
Nothing in the product information for the methylprednisolone says I can't take it with NSAIDs like naproxen. Is there any reason I can't continue to take the naproxen while on the methylprednisolone?

Just to follow-up on some answers - my doctor is aware of all of the medications I am taking, and I have prescriptions for the methylprednisolone (which is a 6-day pack where you take fewer each day) and the valium, both from the same doctor.

Sorry, I typed "valium" but I meant "vicodin." Sheesh!
