The safest and most ntritional is plain old table salt, sodium chloride. In the hospital they do a blood test for the amount of sodium and chloride in the blood, we need it. But not in great amounts. MSG was found to cause birth defects in mice and was taken out of baby food because of the chance of brain damage. MSG causes Chinese restaurant headaches. It is a flavor enhancer but not needed. Use nice fresh food and other herbs to enhance flavor and enjoy the taste of the food. If you need to cut down on sodium use KCl sold as nusalt or losalt. It is a salt replacement.(the body needs potassium too) Also drink lots of water anyway.

It become in 1969 that chinese eating position Syndrome become first "said," and notwithstanding rigorous medical testing has on the grounds that shown no detrimental effects from ingesting MSG, the parable that that's risky has stuck round. Monosodium glutamate is a obviously occurring glutamic acid that become first remoted in 1907 and its crystallized type patented as a mode enhancer presently thereafter. Glutamic acid is responsible for the savory or "umami" flavor often found in ingredients that are fermented or intense in protein (and for which a flavor receptor has, in reality, been said). As for why this particular fantasy continues to be being bandied about in the present day, properly... that is probable a question extra effective requested on the Psychology board, notwithstanding it would want to have some thing to do with illusory affirmation or affirmation bias—in different words, when we get an concept into our heads it would properly be very demanding to dislodge, as we hunt down evidence to help the idea and ignore about evidence that contradicts it.

Common salt, used in the right ways and proportions, is a chemical the body needs and uses efficiently.

MSG is not a chemical the body can deal with through its natural processes. I have just read an article about this (in the book "You- on a Diet") but cannot recall how MSG affects the the body.
