I currently use a Sony Cybershot (7.2 megapixels with 3x optical zoom) It's a FANTASTIC camera. I absolutely love it. I've actually had two. The one I currently use I've had for almost a year. I lug it around with me everywhere I go..and have yet to have any problems. I paid just about $300 for it brand new, and I would assume you could get a comparable Cybershot (perhaps a newer model) for the same price or maybe even cheaper.

It has more options than I can even use really, but it's fun to play around with. And for the most part it's really easy to use.

The picture quality is fantastic, even at lower resolutions (I keep my photos at "email" size, but there are options to make them larger or smaller) For the most part every picture I take is just awesome. All I have to do is point and shoot and the camera does the rest. I would highly suggest this camera to anyone looking in this price range.

only a lilttle piece of suggestion.... once you bypass to purchase it, ask in case you may verify it out, and then attempt the timing (i'm no longer effective what the astounding terminology is right here) of the time it takes between urgent the (shutter) button, and the honestly time it takes to capture the shot. This ought to be as short a time as conceivable, as some thing that is very stressful with various the digital cameras is once you snap a photo, notwithstanding it honestly takes about a million second to capture the shot. (playstation - a million second is very sluggish!!)
