Not sure. Vista may be, but pc world says many manufacturers don't have drivers made yet.

No not all. Some hardwares are not supported at all.
Like I couldn't make my modem work on my PC after I installed Vista. Slowly the hardware makers will introduce Vista drivers.

Most likely not. It is a new OS, and I'd just stick with XP until you are sure all of your stuff has downloadable Vista drivers.

Many drivers are still in the beta stage. But, driver support is progressing rather quickly.

personally, I always wait for at least SP1 preferably SP2 with microsoft products.
