How do you make a Hair Wig from scratch? What do I need besides thread or glue?

My stylist makes wigs. What she does is buys a cap and places it on the clients scalp. Then she sews the weave hair onto the cap. Styles it and they have a custom wig. The thing is getting one of those skull caps and fitting it to the head before placing the hair tracks.
