In Naruto, was Haku a boy or a girl?

Question

I know that 'he' said he was a boy...but maybe he was a girl pretending to be a boy pretending to be a girl....

That would explain why, even though he gets so much exercise, he doesnt gain muscle mass....

and why Zabuza and Haku were so close.....

and of course, why Haku looked like a girl

any thoughts?

Haku is indeed a boy.

He could still exercise and not gain any muscle mass cause he's feminine like some bishies.

He probably close to zabuza because he took him in when he was little.

Haku is boy. I think he is shrimpy because thats just how his body is built. Some people are just naturally thin even if they eat and exercise a lot. Haku might dress like a girl to make people think he is weaker than he really is. Remember Zabuza and Haku are renegade ninjas so they probably don't want to get into a lot of fights.
Zabuza and Haku are close but probably not in the way that you think. I mean seriously zabuza is ten years older than Haku. That would be a little sickening if they were gay for each other. I think Haku just sees Zabuza as a father figure and Zabuza sees Haku as a son. Haku's father and mother died when he was younger so it's no wonder why he would be so close to Zabuza.

Haku is a boy.. He just has a rather feminine touch.. In anime, this is what you call a bishounen.. They are guys who look like or have a feeling around them that makes others think they are girls.. Haku is straight and everything.. He's a normal guy ninja.. He just wears feminine clothes to fit his description of being a bishounen.. The authors made him to look that way to the audience.. But undoubtedly.. Haku is a boy.. Evidence: 1. When you look up his profile, under the gender section, he is listed as a "male" 2. He has clearly said it himself in the anime when confronting Naruto saying "By the way, I'm a boy" 3. When talking in the original japanese language (not dubbed), he says "boku" to refer to himself which is a term used to say "I" but is only used by males.. Females tend to use "watashi" 4. During an episode, there was a time where the anime had a flashback of Haku and Zabusa while Haku was still young. He was wearing male clothes and was also referred to by Zabuza as a boy 5. Kakashi and Zabuza have both referred to him as a boy in some episodes Conclusion: Haku is in fact a boy. There are more evidences and proofs of him being a boy than him being a girl.. It would make more sense if we look at it this way :)

haku is strangely a boy. and haku is also zabuza's adopted son. i think. the name haku, i think it has something to do with japanese mythology.

He was a boy. his Kekei Genkei is myoton. only the guys can get bloodline traits for some reason. oh and myoton is the Kekei genkei of which you have control over water without wasting chakra. Haku has Wind chakra and combined with his myoton makes ice. :-)
