Well, it would take work, that's for sure.

First of all, what EXACTLY do you mean by post-modern? Do you mean it in the academic sense (i.e. Lyotard), or as in post-denominationalist or post-Christian?

A Multi-ethnic church is a great dream, but to naively say "we want a church that transcends color," does not take into account the very real, and very different cultural traditions, theological nuances held by different ethnic groups; nor does it take into account the reality of white privelege and racism in North America.

If you try to look over these things, you'll get a church that is mainly well-meaning white people who never really examine their own assumptions and attitudes about race.

That being said, if you're willing to put yourself out there, struggle with a multi-ethnic group of people to build a community, then yes, it's possible.

best of luck!

A "multi - ethnic postmodern church"

First I haven't a clue what postmodern is ! But, multi - ethnic is what the Church SHOULD BE ! Dr. M. L. King once said that Sunday is the most Segregated Day of The Week. It was true then, and I am ashamed to say it is still in many Denominations. God never intended Christians to separate ourselves by Race, it is a shame, and a Disgrace.

I would rather Worship in a Church with a good blend of many races then a Church that is all Caucasian.

Yes of course! If you are stating that you believe "now" is "postmodern"...

I have been to many churches that are multi-ethnic.
