Moms started working so that getting a square meal for the family will not be a burden for men. But it is found that the working mom's kids depend on neighbours' moms for one square meal because the mom is always caught in traffic jams and returns home late!

I have mixed emotions on the topic, so: yes and no.

Yes, women should be able to work and find fulfilling careers and/or be able to suppliment or bring in income. Many women are very bright and an asset to the workforce (every bit as much as their male counterparts).

However, it is the system, which favors the single and the childless or those willing to (or more accurately **forced** by circumstances) to put family on a back burner that create the problem.

If the job arena were more flexible for women (and men) allowing for job-sharing, telecommuting, in-house daycare, etc. then I don't think a working mother would be a bad thing for a family at all. In fact, a happier mom and more balanced home might result as MANY women struggle with guilt over either staying at home and not earning their potential/leaving dad as a single earner or working but missing tons of times with the kids.

Blame the system, not the people caught in it.

In families where both the spouses work, the responsibility of looking after the home and raising children should be shared jointly. If that is not possible, the children should be educated in boarding schools. There is no reason why mothers of children should leave their jobs and fail to find professional fulfilment when they are qualified. If the earnings of one of the spouses is sufficient to run the family, the other can give up the job too. And that can be men too. Any decision should be arrived at through mutual consensus and after exploring every possible angle.

I cant' say about working mom, but she should be a good homemaker than only. A housewife is working more at home than the other who goes out to wrok.
