Yes, you should apply for as many scholarships as you are qualified for or match the characteristics. It means less money in loans or money spent by your parents on your education. However, each scholarship has a different rule on how they pay it out though in different situations. There tends to be a lot of people applying for consideration for a scholarship, so it becomes important to apply for more than one. There are free sources to locate individual scholarships, and it is free to apply for consideration.

First, the high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships for its current students.

Second, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major will list scholarships on its website, too.

Third, for some college majors, the state government does offer grants or help for certain fields. It is an idea to search Google.com and Yahoo.com for them.

Fourth, the local public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. It is never too early to apply for scholarships if a high school freshman, sophomore, and junior. Also, there are scholarships for individual characteristics such race, religion, living in a certain area, college major, and even wearing duct tape to the prom.

Good luck!

Yes you can.

Just remember that once you reach your 'cost of attendance' at your school, excess scholarship money won't be given to you. Check with your financial aid office for specific details however. Sometimes if we have students that have most scholarships over what their tuition and fees are, the donor will allow it to be posted on the following semester.

It just depends...

GOOD LUCK!! :)
