Stick with something whole grain or protien. Like scrambled eggs or a whole grain english muffin. These foods do not spike your blood sugar for a crash later. This morning I had weight control oatmeal and a Thomas's Whole Grain English muffin. I am still full and have not had a mid morning crash.

Depending on your activity levels and so on, you need some good whole grains for fuel, which digests slowly but comfortably and provides sustained energy. You need enough protein in some form to jump-start your brain. If you can't face eggs, then have a piece of beef jerky you can meditate on as you drive to work. But get something with protein into you, or when you get to work (or school, even more so), your brain will not be ready and you'll not hit the ground running. The winners do, you know. They enter that office in complete control of the situation, already thinking of their list of priorities, and able to cope. That runs on protein.
After that, it's what you are able to face. Fruit or at least fruit juice would be good to provide quick start energy of the more physical part. And many people really cannot make it without some caffeine. Don't forget to take your vitamins.

Mostly clogged mind in the morning is associated with 2 things that I know of.
1) Not enough sleep.
2) Stomach Disorder.
Well, the remedies are simple. See to it you get minimum of 8 hrs of sleep. If you feel your sleep has not been full then try and do a little bit of exercise to free your mind.
Stomach disorder plays an important role. So, see to it that you,ve had a good potty session in the morning. After that do a little bit of exercise of the mind and believe me it is simple and gr8. Now for the exercise:
Wear some lose clothes--probably a track pant or a lose fitting shorts and a thin T-shirt for the air to circulate. Sit crossed legged on the floor. You can use a mat if you feel like but no shoes or footwear. Shut your eyes, relax your body limbs and stop thinking about anything. Try and free your mind. Take long deep breaths. Very soon you will find your self as if you are falling off to sleep but you are not. Only the mind is falling off to sleep. After five minutes or so just get back to awaken your mind slowly. Once you have opened your eyes you will feel gr8.
I follows this routne and it works for me. See if it does for you??
Ciao

There is no doubt about it that its the best meal of the day and I would suggest starting off with a glass of some orange juice I prefer the Simply brand. Food wise there are numerous things that you can have, you should always have somekind of fruit anything is fine just as long as you have that serving, and some whole grain toast if you like or a bowl of oat meal or both. In addition I take a multivitamin daily and it sure does the trick to wake you up I mean if breakfast doesn't cut it the multivitamin does it. Any food containing Vitamin B is great because its energy. With vitamin B you want to make sure you take in folic acid through food or take it in through a vitamin. For men they make Centrum & Centrum performance(what I take) which contains both vitamin B & folic acid as well as other vitamins & minerals. For women I haven't got a clue but Walmart, drug store, or something like CVS or Walgreens should carry some. Hope this helps!

I don't exactly know this in a factual manner, but sometimes personal experience is just as good if not better. What always perked me up more than other things, is fresh grapefruit and granola of some type(even cerial). Bananas, an orange; stuff that has vitamins and potasium which is a by the way, a very helpfull tool to starting out your day/lazyness. My brain also functioned better while taking tests in school. Now that I older I started on coffee and it is not the way to go with your hope in mind because all you get is a quick fix, but then you can crash heal hard. Still with the healthier solutions.....

Personally, I am addicted to coffee, I do not add ingredients but take it straight. I find its effects stay with me for about 4 hours, and I do not "crash." I am not sure what all the negativity about coffee is on here! However, I do accompany the coffee usually with a banana or puffed rice cereal with dried or fresh fruit and rice milk poured over it (no added sugar in the cereal). This is quite satisfying.
I don't understand why everyone gives a thumbs down to the people who advocate fish for breakfast. I'll bet a little baked salmon (prepared the day before) would be very satisfying in the morning and it's also a great brain food! I have never heard of the study that says apples wake you up faster than coffee; that's a new one on me. What they will do is make you have to trot to the bathroom about 2 hours later. Same with oatmeal.

I like to start the morning with a cup of good green or "white" tea (not that lipton stuff). I've read that tea is an anti-oxidant and that the caffine in tea is a different enantiomer (molecular shape) than coffee. I have this while reading my emails or catching up on other reading. While I'm doing this, I am preparing a breakfast of coarse flaked oatmeal (boil water then put in oatmeal, chopped apple, etc. bring it back to a boil, cover, and turn off the heat...it's ready in 20-30 minutes and I don't cook out the nutrients. I eat the oatmeal with a piece of fresh fruit or put fresh berries on top and take a multivitamin. I've been doing this awhile and find I am very productive out of the gate and can go to lunch without being hungry. Hope this helps as each one's metabolism is different, i.e. if you are in a pre-diabetic condition, etc.
