...the same as or similar to the caledar setup in Microsoft Outlook? I really like the setup and layout of the program and would like to get one for my personal laptop. If not, is there a program you'd recommend using?

No, but try Mozilla's Sunbird. It's free. I use it because I don't use Outlook and it works pretty nice.
