I did water and juice fast for 24 hours. I plan on doing a three day fast soon. People in the Bible fasted for different reasons, to receive answers to God's will for their lives, to intercede on the behalf of others (Esther's Fast); Hannah's fast, to help with psychological warefare. Some fast everything except water, etc. The shorter fasts you should be okay on. I would research in the Bible fasts, many resources on it, and remember, the purpose is to sacrifice something to God and to seek Him. Covenant with God on this and I know you will be blessed.

I fast once a month all day, sometimes 1.5 days with out food or water for spiritual/religious reasons. But one thing I wish I would have tried before having 3kids, is what a Native American that I knew recommended. He said every year or so, he would go into the woods draw a 5 foot circle in the ground and was not able to leave that circle except to go to the bathroom. He brought 3 gallons of water and a power bar. 1 gallon of water a day and the power bar for the hike back to the car. You can bring a favorite inspiring book, scriptures, but this guy said to bring nothing. Just bring your self and give your self 3 days with nothing to worry about but finding more about your self- no other stimulation.
For me fasting isn't hard since I can go for a long time and not get hungry. But the challenge for me and the lessons I get from it are to teach me to control my physical appetites. It takes discipline to not grab a quick drink from the fountain. It helps me to keep in check some things in my life that I'd like to have better control.

I've done a two day fast. It was interesting to say the least. I had only water to drink. I can't fast safely right now. I have developed blood sugar problems so I have to be very cautious of when and what I eat. However, once i get my blood sugar under controll again and maintain that for sometime, I am going to attempt to fast again.

May the peace, blessings and mercy of God be upon you

Yes I have fasted, we as Muslims are required to fast for 30 days during the Islamic month of Ramadan. This requires getting up before Dawn, eating a light meal and making your intention to fast. During the fast you cannot eat, drink, smoke or engage in sexual activity. Also you should not make vain speech (back-bite, curse etc..) The fast lasts until sunset where you break your fast and say

Allahumma laka sumtu wa bika amantu wa 'alayka tawakkaltu wa 'alaa rizqika
aftartu

O God! I fasted for Your sake and I believe in You and I put my total trust in You and I break my fast with the food provided by You.

So we do this routine for 30 days every year.

Peace Be With You

I've done 5 day fasts before. I'd only drink water, and lots of it.

the first day is hard, the second is even harder, but they get easier after that...

I'd usually eat a salad to break my fast, and it would skyrocket my energy.

I'd usually feel drained thru to day three, days 3 - 5 weren't too bad with energy.

For one week. No food, only water. Break the fast slowly when you're done (juice, then raw fruit, etc.).

Read "The Miracle of Fasting" by Paul Bragg.

Yes for a week. It is very healthy and cleansing. As well you get very close with the Holy Spirit during this time. Watch and see. Bless your fast.

I've fasted the Catholic way and did it for the entire time (usually no meat or dairy products, etc.) for Advent, Lent, etc.

I've also fasted for Ramadan, that was harder and I didn't succeed the 1st time but the second time I tried I managed to keep the fast. I wanted to walk a mile in their shoes and understand...

Well, it wasn't exactly fasting, but I've gone 3 days without eating anything because I was that bloody broke.
