Think of something that your girlfriend has a passion for or absolutely loves and tie it in with that. My wife was a big soccer fan, having played both high school and college. I contacted our local Major League Soccer team and worked out a half time contest with them. My wife & I were "randomly" drawn to participate in a goal kick contest. After "winning", I won the ring that I had just bought for her. Immediately I proposed in front of 16,000 people. She loved it and still talks to her friends about it. Didn't really cost me anything besides the tickets to the game. I'm sure whatever you decide to do will be great and she will always remember

Whatever you do, DON'T put the ring in food, she may crack a tooth by biting on it, or worse still she could choke on it. I'm serious about that!!! That would not be the romantic proposal she had in mind. If you are broke then why not make her breakfast in bed and simply ask her to marry you, that would work for me!

i'm not good at giving ideas but i've been proposed to twice both fairly unique. once was in chicago on lake shore drive early in the morning as we were sitting on a bench looking at the fog glazed lake and sailboats. the other was on my birthday and he packed empty boxes in box after box and when i got to the bottom one it had a rock in it literally, i look at him and was like wtf? he said hey it's a big shiny rock... kinda like this one and pulled out a ring and proposed. i loved it. use those ideas or if i had to think of one not from experience i'd say wake up before she does, if you don't live together invite her over then before she wakes up put a note near her or somewhere she'll read it and have it say " check under your pillow the toothfairy came" then have the ring under there with a note asking her to marry you. be waiting close by... like in the kitchen or even still laying next to her pretending to be asleep or whatnot. that's the best i have at the moment. good luck

My brother proposed to his fiance by making a scrapbook of all their memories together over the past few years, and took her out to dinner then had his friend put the scrapbook and a rose on a nearby bench and then they went for a walk, where she came upon the stuff and then he let her look at it and then he proposed...

My fiance got my whole family involved which meant a lot! His sisters took me shopping in the morning, then my sister took me to get my nails done, then my parents claimed to be taking me out to dinner and actually dropped me off at a starlit park overlooking the city skyline where he was waiting with candles and flowers. He gave me 10 reasons why he knew I was the one he wanted to spend his life with then he proposed! It was perfect!

Propose to her in the spot that you decided to pop the question or where you first met. My hubby and I met in vegas on the college campus there. We went back for a funfilled weekend and he asked me if i wanted to walk around campus and see how things have changed...when we got to the very spot that we met he popped the question...I wasnt even thinking twice about it...I was completely surprised.

From a female POV, I think anything would be unique if this is her first time. But what might be nice, prob not unique though, is to propose while on a cruise, a nice one. this way its already a nice romantic night.

Take her out to dinner, but make sure to convince her to order a desert like ice cream, pretend you are going to the bathroom and ask whomever does your ice cream to put a ring in the whipped cream

whatever you do don't try to be clever and put the ring in food or drink...my best friend hid his fiance's ring in a glass of red wine and she sipped and sipped until the last couple of swallows, then she downed it in one big gulp..ring and all.
when he told her what he was trying to do...she freaked and tried to make herself throw it up.
long story short...afraid it might hurt coming back up, they waited for it on the, ahem, other end.

do it some place romantic and public so you can be cheered on when others realize what is going on. plus if it is in a restaurant they may give you a free bottle of wine or champagne, even comp your meal!
