Arsenicum album (the white oxide of arsenic) is a homeopathic "remedy", not a drug. 15C is a low dosage, not as low as an "X" would be. "Arsenicum is one of our best remedies and is especially useful for many acute conditions.... Toxic conditions often resond to this remedy, whether the toxin is from a drug or vaccine, food poisoning, or a buildup of toxins in kidney or liver disease...." pp.400-401.

It would be one choice in a rubic of remedies that a homeopathic veterinarian or a veterinary homeopath might prescribe for your cat. Homeopathic remedies are "tolerated" better than any drugs you could put into your cat's system. Unless you are working with a professional and there is follow-up (which might include going to a higher dosage) it might not achieve the result you are looking for.

There are short-term homeopathic remedies that are used by people or animals, such as Arnica for pain from bruising and inflamation, Ignatia for grief, Ledum for a tick bite, etc. I use them on the recommendation of a holistic vet or a homeopathic veterinarian. Doses at the most potent levels above 200C (1M, 10M) are not available to the general public).

There are 4-5,000 possible homeopathic remedies available to the trained homeopath, prescribed on an entirely individual basis for the human or animal. Reaction or "tolerance" is closely monitored by the professional to determine if the remedy is working positively, if a higher dose is needed or it is necessary to go to another remedy.

That is not a "drug" it is a homeopathic.
It is used for allergies and can be used to treat people with cats allergies. I would call the vet, a homeopathic vet, before giving that to your cat.

Is anyone else speaking from personal experience? Homeopathics are both human and animal medicine. I have seen amazing results by using homeopathics for my pets.

Yes, homeopathics are recognized as a "drug" by the FDA which in turn makes homeopathics "acceptable" in the medical community, in theory, except that the conventional community continues to be stubborn.

Really though, homeopathics are a big part of the Holistic/Alternative Medicine community and I've been using herbs and homeopathy for my pets (dogs, cats, and rats) for over 20 years now.

Health food stores will keep on their shelves, or special order, homeopathic strengths of 6X (for first-aid and acute conditions) to 30C (for long time chronic issues), this includes your C15. With 6X up to, but not including, 30C, the remedies are safe for the layperson to use if the conditon of the animal is mild or acute. You should be consulting a homeopathic vet about the animal's condition if it is chronic, and ongoing, in the case of not being sure about your animals' condition, or if you don't know anything about homeopathics, or how to use them.

I use Arsenicum Album 30C, 1 to 3 times, for my cats to nip an upper respiratory in the bud, and for my rats' respiratory illness.

So what are you using Arsen Alb. for and have you accurately observed all of your cat's symptoms to know that you have chosen the right remedy? The remedy will do nothing if you haven't chosen the right one. And it will backfire (make things worse) if the remedy is not given at the right times or too often.

You are welcome to e-mail me and we can talk more. Cats in particular are very sensitive to a lot of drugs and herbals. You should always question what you are giving your cat. Cats respond well to the remedies, without adverse affects.

Is this something the vet gave you specifically for your cat? If so, then I'd say yes. Otherwise, don't give any medication to your cat without checking with a vet.

DO NOT for any reason give your cat ANYTHING that is made for humans.
That includes OTC, herbs or natural remedies.

Always check with your Vet before treating your cat with anything that did not come directly from the Vet.
