I don't think it has anything to do with Religion, but rather how you were raised and the type of person you are. I'm religious and have a few gay friends who I treat no different from my straight friends, because they, too, are human, just like me. So, I think it has something to do with morals and the way indiividauls are raised and what they are willing to accept.

I am a Christian and I don't hate you.
However, I think a point of observation should be made.
It is possible to not like what a person does but still love the person.
If this were not so, we could never love our parents, siblings, spouses or anyone who ever does anything that we do not like.
Unless you believe that human beings are perfect, it is always possible that even people close to us may habitually do and say things that we just don't like. Yet many parents still love their children when they do things that the parents don't like. Husbands and wives still love each other in spite of imperfections and bad habits.
So, I disagree with the notion that it is not possible to hate someone's actions and still love them. There is an abundance of evidence to the contrary.
Hate is hate. It is wrong to hate homosexuals and it is wrong to hate true Christians who espouse high principles based upon what the Bible teaches.
It is even wrong to try and force, shame or pressure people into accepting and embracing what we do if their principles are against it.

I am a Christian and no, I don't hate you. If a Christian shows you hate, then he is committing a sin. However, I do not support your lifestyle because it is a sin for a man to be with a man. That's the simple point of it. Just as there are many other sins. I am a sinner, but I ask God daily to help me not to sin. I have the choice to do against His will or to follow His commands. You may be gay, I may be a thief. Both are wrong. Choosing not to follow through is what makes the difference, and asking God for forgiveness. This He will grant to all who ask. Religions are man made, not God breathed. The believes and rituals fitted to ones ideals. We have drifted away from God's Word and to simply read it and follow it.

I was raised a Christian. Now, I'm not sure what I believe. I sort of go back and forth between believing, and not believing in anything at all. Anyway, even when I was a Christian, I never, ever thought of gay people as sinful. (No more than any straight person.) To me, sin has always been more about what TYPE of a person you are. How you treat people, how kind and generous you are--that's what has always mattered to me. I don't believe for a SECOND that if there's a God, he would condemn anyone simply for loving another person.

No, I dont hate you. I am a Christian, but I dont follow everything Christianity says. My best friend is a lesbian and I dont care, I dont judge her, in fact I think its fun to have a gay friend. She gives me a different perspective on some things in life. No one should hate you for being gay, and despite what some people will tell you, God does not hate you for being gay either. God loves you, you are one of his children, what you are doing is not a sin, I believe God made you gay for a reason. Dont let people get to you, people fear that which they do not understand. Someday I hope we will live in a different world where you sexuality will not cause you any grief. =)

The scriptures tell us to judge not lest ye be judged.
However the word translated as judge is krinw pronounced kree’-no and it can also be interpreted as condemn.
We are not to condemn, only God can condemn.
However, the Bible says that discernment is a gift to those who believe.
We are also told that the word of God discerns what is good and what it evil.
When we say that (any activity) is evil, we are just saying what the word of God has said.
I don't hate anyone, I often quote a seminary professor who said, 'sometimes you have to let pagans be pagans.
As to your being gay, the Bible calls it an abomination, unacceptable to God if you do not change.
That may not bother you, and if that is so, then what difference does it make.

You know, someone here asked a great question the other day. Basically he said, If being gay is a sin, why are straight people not tempted by it at all? We're all tempted to various sins -- anger, stealing, judging, etc. so why not that one? Answer's clear: it's not a sin, it's just the way some people are made.
I'm a Christian and I don't hate you. There are lots of Christians who don't hate you. Don't listen to the fundamentalists, they don't define Christianity.

I am a christian and no, I do not hate you. I am not gay and do not understand it, but there is no hate in my heart towards you. Only God has the answers to these questions we cannot answer in our lives. I know it speaks of this subject in the Bible. The Bible also tells us to love one another. I do find it confusing. I believe God loves all of us. Billy Grahm ( spelling), was once asked what he would do if he had a child that was gay, He said he would love them even more. God Bless you. Get to know the Lord in an intimate way if you haven't already. God loves you. Jesus died for you just as he did for me.Jesus said" In this world there will be troubles, but take heed! For I have overcome the world." He said he would never leave us or forsake us. He said JUDGE NOT, Lest ye not be judged. Also, take the log out of your own eye, before trying to remove the splinter from anothers. To me it's all about love. It is about loving each other and serving each other for Gods glory, not ours. God Bless you. Seek and ye shall find.

No, and I'm Christian.
And yes, we are not supposed to judge. That's God's department. And I have to tell you, He's already made His judgement on sin, whatever it is. In your case, you already know.
All we can do is warn out of love, and it is sad to say, but far too many of us either get sanctimonious and condemn, or over zealous and shove the truth down others' throats.
As far as hatred, I'm sure some do, and I agree God would not condone that. But remember the old expression,
Love the sinner, hate the sin. (like it or not)
Think about things, and take care.

Certainly do not hate you. Only God is the judge. Christians that hate you are just as imperfect as anyone else. Atheists and agnostics that hate Christians have the same problem. Racists of all ethnic groups probably have it the worst as they have the most people to hate. People that hate racists are just as prejudiced as the racists that they hate. Prejudice and discrimination can take many forms. We all need to guard ourselves against it. It is very important to recognize the humanity within all people including people who we can not understand or do not agree with.
