No brown recluses--- but brown violin spiders and black widows. Neither bite is usually very serious though, unless you are allergic. There are also centipedes, whose bites are very painful, and scorpions.... as well as your usual bees and wasps and mosquito's, etc.
The ocean has a variety of 'ouchie' things--- jellyfish, sea urchins, and a type of stinging seaweed.
None of these are fatal, unless of course, you are allergic. Watch out for generalized itching, hives, itchy throat---If you have these symptoms, especially the throat and nose, call 911 at once. Breathing passages can swell shut very quickly and that can kill you.

Aloha!

Brown & Black Widow spiders live in HI and their bites are dangerous and require a doctor's attention. The violin spider is another one to watch out for; the bite is serious.
