THere is no dipstick, what the heck?
I am feeling slippage.

nice car....but i have no clue on how to check the fluid....im a girl.

You are right, there is no dipstick. That's because you're not supposed to check it on your particular vehicle. On the bottom of the transmission pan, there is a two stage drain/fill plug. To drain it, remove the big hex drain plug. To fill it, replace the hex drain plug, but remove the center torx plug. Either attach an adapter to the opening, or fill with individual bottles of Mercon V with the nipple type cap attached to the bottle and squeeze until the bottle is emptied. Start vehicle, and repeat this process until fluid starts to come back out when the bottle is removed after each fill. The reason Ford doesn't provide a dipstick to check or fill the transmission is to weed out any "Joe's garage" topping up with the incorrect fluid, in an effort to reduce manufacturer warranty claims on failed transmissions due to improper fluids being added.

If your having slippage take the trans to have the fluid changed The trans has to have fluid changed every 20000 miles

Actually manual transmissions require different oils depending on the vehicle... Most of these answers are correct on where to check it, but check your owners manual for what type of lubricant is required, it will either be gear oil or automatic transmission fluid... If you dont have an owners manual... go or call your local autozone and they can look it up on thier computer

There is normally a dipstick. On ours it was in the bcak, but it has to have one because nomally you need a place to add after you drain the fluid right? So look in the owners manual or go buy a chilton manual that will help. Good luck!

Depending on the model, the transmission may be self contained unit. You will not be able to check yourself and will need to take to the dealer.

you half to take it to the dealer it is one of them scam to make you bring it back
