I think it's because we show them what they have stolen from us things such as
Christmas - Winter Solstice
Easter - Spring Solstice
Devil - Horned God
Holy trinity - Maiden, mother, old Lady
plus a million and one other things. When christianity first swept our lands it devoured and destroyed our beliefs and enforced its own. Anything that wasn't allowed by the church was therefore evil and to be feared. They don't hate us, they fear us!

I'm a witch, have been for years. I've never thought Christians hate Pagans, or feel any jealousy towards us. When I was running my university Pagan Society, I used go to parties at the local Anglican vicar's house! I think you are making a very risky and possibly reactionary generalisation. Have you based this question on a negative experience?
I would agree that some Christians don't understand Paganism, either from ignorance of what the faith actually involves or antiquated prejudices. This lack of understanding can produce fear, particularly as common misinterpretations of the Bible expressly condemn witchcraft. A lot of Christians following an evangelical path believe that they have a duty to "save" non-Christians and can be a little patronising in their belief that we are poor, deluded unfortunates who have the Devil whispering lies in our ears. This is annoying, I will agree, but they are merely acting on their beliefs and should not be treated with rancour. Your question sounds, perhaps despite your intention, churlish and immature. Whilst I can understand your frustration, that kind of attitude doesn't reflect well on Pagans and Wiccans, it rather confirms the assumptions of others that we're a bunch of rebellious teenagers. Think before you act. Christians don't have the monopoly on hate-mongering.

Dark Ages mentality. Along with all of the superstitions spread by the Roman Catholic Church (especially when the "Hammer of the Witches" came out) though the Vatican did not officially accept the Malleus Maleficarum (spelling?) they still used it to show how "evil" witches (and mainly women - if anyone has read it, they would see the whole thing is against women in general and how evil we are). Today, people in general wouldn't agree with the torture, but they would certainly agree with the superstitious bullshit that was written about witches in it. So, in my lowly opinion, they are living off of superstition that was never proven to be true to begin with and apply to anyone who is Wiccan/Pagan/etc... I dont think there is any jealousy at play here... but it's amazing to see people use info that was written by people outside of the general Pagan group and accept is as truth. I guess I'll start going to the Muslims to find out what True Christianity is about. *wink*

I'm Christian and I have never hated anyone or anything.
Based on what little I know, I have always thought that the Wiccan religion was a spiritual and beautiful set of beliefs that celebrated Mother Earth and the powers of nature.

They do not understand Wicca and because it is different, they fear it. It is a normal human reaction. And it is a very short distance from fear to hate. A reasonable solution would be to explain Wicca far and wide, but though that's very reasonable, it would not lessen the hatred on the part of many Xtian Fundies because they don't want to hear it and actually prefer and enjoy having someone to hate. I use the word "Xtian" quite deliberately, because those creatures are not Christian at all, despite their craven attempts to wrap themselves in that mantle. They prefer the idiotic prattle of individuals like the first responder to this question.

Christians are taught that all religions are wrong except their own. But the funny thing is that they are also taught to love everyone, but most of them don't want anything to do with someone who practices another religion (These are the real strong believers). A lot of them try to convince you that their religion is the right religion. I was brought up lutheran and this is what I was taught for too long. I don't find anything wrong with other religions. It's your choice and I don't hate anyone because they practice another religion.

Christians don't hate anybody. If you have encountered a self-proclaimed Christian that hates you, then yes they are jealous of you, but they aren't a Christian--so they probably don't hate you because you're wiccan--they just don't like YOU.

Dunno about Christians, but Wiccans who ask questions like this in order to annoy or get reactions out of Christians bother me.
What part of "harm none" are you misinterpreting that you think "Intentionally angering or irritating others to get a rise out of them" is okay? (And don't tell me the "or are you just jealous of us" wasn't intended to bait others).

Don't hate you, and why on earth would we be jealous? We can hug trees too, if we want... Aren't Wiccans caring, intelligent people who are keen to understand the natural rhythms of the Earth and live in harmony with her?
You tell me, I haven't actually met any.

I'm glad you made the differentiation between hating things ABOUT wiccans, and hating wiccans. It's an important distinction that apparently escaped most of the posters here.
What I hate ABOUT wiccans is that they don't know Jesus Christ, and therefore cannot enter Heaven when they leave this world. Hell is a horrible reality that I don't wish to see happen to anyone. This is because I love wiccans and want to see them spend eternity in glory.
