Because Sunday is the first day of the week, not the last as some Christians want to believe. Saturday is the Sabbath.

May God Bless you.

He appeared Sunday after his resurrection.

Christ's resurrection was not on the first day of the week, as tradition teaches.

Pentecost was on Sivan 6, which was not a Sunday that year.

He fell out of the window because he was listening to a long sermon that went past sundown.

Paul ordered collections to be done on Sunday (a common work day) because the collections in those days consisted of great labor. Collections were in grain, fruit, and farm animals for the most part. They collected them on Sunday so they would not have to do that work the following Sabbath, a day of rest.

"I was in the spirit on the Lord's Day" That was the Great and Terrible Day of The Lord. It's just ahead of us. It does not refer to a day of the week. It is the "Day" that follows the Great Tribulation.

The most important episode in the life of Jesus is the resurrection which happened on the 1st day of the Jewish week(Sunday) and so it takes on a greater signifigance that any other day of the week, because of the resurrection of Christ this day is the holiest.

Revelation says "On the day of YHVH" Rev 1:10 from "The Scriptures". As He said, my Father worked hitherto, and I work. Surely you would not expect the Savior to take any day off other than the Rest day He established!

The sabbath started on Friday at sundown and ends on Saturday at sundown. Sunday was not a day off.

Peace!
Didn't you notice that all those events you mentioned, except for the fall of Eutichus who was sleeping, were holy events?

In those days the shops were closed and the pubs only opened between 12 and 2pm and 7pm and 10.30. Nothing else to do.

It was his day off, and he had a lot of time on his hands.
