As far as the kitten is concerned, you're its mommy. That's the way babies are.

Kittens can be very needy, you have to figure there world was thrown into a bit of turmoil. They have been taken away from their mother and their siblings, so they get extra lonely. Don't worry though, kittens grow out of it, eventually they learn to comfort themselves and give you some space. But cats do require more attention then people often think. If you are petting your cat and playing with it everyday, it will be alright!

Yes my cats are very vocal as well and require a lot of attention. To give myself some time alone I always make sure the cats have plenty of toys and blankets to play with. As long as your cat isn't exhibiting signs of being sick I wouldn't worry about this behavior. If you have only had the cat for a short time it is possible the cat is lonely for it's mom. Just give the kitty as much love as you can. Good luck!

She a new Kitten? My Kitten did this for about two weeks when we first got her. She would sleep in bed with us, we would try to close the door and make her sleep out in the living room but she did not take no for an answer. She followed us around everywhere and meowed all the time. I think shes just getting used to her new owner and her new home. It should go away with time.

Many shelters and rescues will NOT adopt a kitten to a home with children less than 6 years old, and this is why. The 8 year old is clearly old enough to understand that he should not be acting this way, the 3 year old is not. If they are at him constantly like that, you are either going to end up with an injured kitten, or one that becomes fearful of them. You could forbid them to touch the kitten unless you are around to supervise, or perhaps you should consider rehoming him.

remember that the little kitten since the day it was born had its mum and its litter mates for company. then suddenly it was snatched away and now it doesn't have them, its looking to you to replace the siblings and mum it has lost. mine did the same, just spend lots of time with it when you can, if you leave it alone but the tv on and leave it some safe toys. it'll grow out of it but in the meanwhile you just have to be patient and loving. or if you can, get another kitten for it, it won't be so attached to you then, perfect solution as you won't feel so bad for leaving it either, you'll have ahappier couple of kittens then.

Kittens are needy, just like babies.
After a few months, this behavior will stop. When my cat was a kitten, she would drive me crazy meowing all the time, and sleeping on my head (yeah, ON my head) at night.
But rest assured your kitten will stop these behaviors later on. Just give her plenty of attention, she might miss her Mom and her sibling cats!

Yes I have a kitten follows me to the bathroom to bed then I put her out and close my door and she meows and cries so I have to let her I also have a 3 year old cat if I close the door he scratches it until He drives me insane he's declawed so it doesn't scratch my door at all when he/she gets older they'll grow out of that stage Your kittem is just attached to you.

That's not unusual, after all, she is a baby. Like any baby, she just needs extra attention. If your living situation allows, you might consider getting another kitty for her to play with. Or, more than likely, she is getting used to her new home. Even older cats who are brought into a new are a little disoriented for a while. They may hide under furniture, or stick to you like glue until they feel comfortable.

My son rescued a kitten from the airport about a month ago and it too has decided that I am its mother. It is driving both me and my other cats crazy. Who wants to be known as the cat's mother? Not I!

Some cats are like that. It's funny that you asked this question because last night my cat was going nuts outside the bedroom door. I have this mega cranky neighbor downstairs, so I was getting really worried that he'd wake her up. my female cat is just too cool to show hew emotion. She likes to be in the bedroom, but she won't drive you nuts
