My cats do that too, since it isn't dangerous I just leave it. If they don't like it, they will stop doing it. I even tried moving the water way across the room but somehow they still do it.

I don't think its anything that serious...
Our cats water always has floating biscuits in it... The biscuits are usually all over the floor, under the dining table, even in the living room.
Cats are just messy eaters... They probably flick the biscuits around the floor and then they end up in the water...
Don't worry about it...

i don't really think that cats like tap water mine have always drunk from puddles etc...rain water is supposed to be good for them too i think it probably tastes a little bit chlorinated...however i think the biscuit just gets stuck to the fur and drops in hehe and there are always biscuits on the floor no matter how high you make the sides of the bowl

I have seen my cat purposely pick the pieces of food up with his paws and put them in his mouth, and sometimes they wander across the floor or into the dish with water. But I laid down water out fresh everyday and he would never drink it, so I stopped~ he actually PREFERS drinking out of the toilet, as opposed to the fresh clean water, so maybe they do prefer the flavoring. I mean their food smells gross and I wouldn't eat it, they just have different taste buds than us!

cats don't like the taste of city water cause they can taste the chlorine. Pet stores sell aerator to clean and air-ate your water for your pet. Most likely, the cat dropped one in and found the taste of the water to be improved so it continues to do so. Cats are smart!
I suggest you try bottled water or put water in a container and allow it to sit over night before pouring it into the cats bowl. This allows some of the chemical smell to evaporate.

My cats prefer to drink dirty puddle water off our flat roof or from there water dish in the garden that always has leaves in it. I give them fresh water inside every day but they hardly ever drink that! Both cats will also drink from the toilets if they can and I have to keep the seats down because of it... Cats eh?!

I've watched my cats eat and the reason food ends up in their water is because of the way they occassionally shake their heads while eating. They actually end up throwing pieces of food which often times lands in the water because of how close the dishes are to each other.

Some cats like to soak their hard dry food then eat it. When I feed my cat I'll actually throw a small handful in the water dish and he'll sit there and eat them one by one picking them up with his paw. Then he'll go to eating the regular dry food I put in his bowl.
I've seen several other cats do this as well.

my cats do that also..i think after they eat they drink water and just like humans they back wash ya know..especially seeing they are drinking with their heads down, gravity is taking into effect..it is probably nothing to worry about..hec sometimes i come home and find everything but the sun in their water..they play so dang much that they kick up so much stuff in their water and food bowls..sometimes i find their toys in there..so dont fret..just change their water at least 3 times aday..depending on how many cats you have..

Your cat is trying to soften the biscuit in his water to eat later.
