Ha! My sister lives with me and we are always joking about how we are going to turn into the crazy cat ladies on the block! I had to go buy new furniture because we were looking aroung the house and the cats used to have better furniture than we did! I don't think it's odd to tell your pets you love them. I tell my kitty that he is the best kitten in the world and that his mommy loves him more than anything else in the world several times a day.

No, you aren't the cat lady until you have 20 cats, and eat cat food with them. I don't say I love you to my pets, but I make sure I give them a cuddle and extra pet everyday. They are a member of the family!

Well, not daily, I mean, because then they'd EXPECT me to tell them all the time and shoot, some days I just DON'T love 'em! Kidding, kidding! If you have 15 cats and don't neuter them, and don't feed them but still proclaim to love them THEN you're turning into a cat lady!

I tell my cats I love them and I hug them before I leave my house and I dont think im a "cat lady" as long as you have other things going on in your life other than your cats your not a "cat lady" If you spend your every waking moment on your cat thats when your a "cat lady".

I used to live next to a cat lady. She had about 12 cats and they were always outside of her house roaming the neighborhood, and pissing all over everything. So as long as you keep your cats inside your own house/apartment, then you're good people as far as I'm concerned.

If so, then I am a "cat lady" too. I tell my cats and my parrot I love them throughout the day! Even if they cant understand it makes me feel good!!!

Nah, I do the same. There is nothing wrong with loving your pets a lot. My pets (3 cats and a dog) are my babies.

I hope not, because that would make me the "really crazy lady who talks to her chickens, goat, dog, cat, parrots and cockateils".
Sometimes (I have to admit), I feel a little silly winding down the window and yelling, "don't worry, mummy will be back soon" as I drive out of the driveway!
Sad but true!!!

Nice question. It's not so much the words they understand as the 'tone' of the voice. I tell my dogs, and cat and hamsters every day that they are loved. This is nothing to be ashamed of. They need it too! Good luck to you.

Good for you! Pets understand the tone if not the words. I tell our dog every day that he's a good dog (a slight bending of the truth) and that I love him. And why not? He certainly loves me.
