In the generation of power which system has proved best one which uses generation transformers or one that uses distribution transformers? What are the pros and cons of the two systems? Cost of the distribution transformers as opposed to earthing resistance?

I think you have created a non-existant term in 'generation transformers' although web search is buried under returns for toy Transformers.
If you mean what I think you were trying to mean, then the contrast is a bit like asking: which are better farms for growing food or groceries for selling good. This meaning would apply if you meant step up transformers at the generating plant and distribution (step down) transformers at the place of need.
