Debit cards are for immediate payment

It depends on the transaction type. A debit card only means that it is directly linked to your bank account, like a cheque.

If you do a "Credit" transaction, they usually take between 7 and 14 days to post the transaction. The transaction has to be processed by an individual, and for example, resturants often go through and process them once a week. There is no time limit. I worked for a company that would bill people almost a year later for product purchased via credit cards or through credit transactions.

If you do a "Debit" transaction, the transaction will usually post immediately or the next bank business day, as it is a more direct transaction than a credit transaction.

If you did not enter your PIN, it was not a debit transaction.
