any idea how to get it down? the tree is tall and I cant climb it. I dont want to chop it down either as thats a bit like using the proverbial sledgehammer to crack a nut.
I dont have a flamethrower either.
Ideas?

Thanks to everyone except the first turd. just to say, I cant reach it from window by a long way. much too high for a ladder. dont want to bother the fire brigade when they could be saving lives and im certainly not going to pay anyone.
The fishing rod idea is leading (or maybe the catapult/slingshot although theres a main road just behind the tree, could be dangerous)

Get a garden hose with a high pressure nozzle. Direct the stream up from underneath the bag. If there is enough pressure, you might be able to dislodge it.
I did something similar a few years ago.

Try a slingshot; with some rocks;
Next time ask for paper bags; the baggers never; give you paper bags; hate plastic bags.
Or you could use a rope; tie a rock on it; try throwing it;
I have a plastic bag that has been in my tree for 12 months.

is the bag small or large? how long has it been in your tree? why do you continue to let it disturb your sleep? how long are you going to leave the bag in the tree by your bedroom window and let it annoy you?

Can you throw something that won't also get stuck? Tennis ball, baseball, even a rock (don't break a window!).
That is annoying, especially when it's windy.

Get something to reach it from your bedroom window, a broom, board, rake, etc. and pull it out.

Mmm, throw at rock at it...I would suggest tying a rope or some kinda string to it if you can't aim well.
