I am getting married 12/8/07 and funds are very limited. I would like a hall were I could bring in my own food, drinks and cake. I will need to accomadate 175 guests, any places you know of.

Check with your local Fire Department or VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars lodge). Many of them have VERY nice halls, complete with kitchens and bars, and usually the cost will be between $100 and $250 for the rental. Some even have volunteers that will bartend for you for $50 plus tips. Best of luck to you!

I agree with above, the halls are the way to go in NJ for something where you want to bring your own food.

Just a tip though, dont bother with the KofC halls, they make you use a caterer on top of the $$$ you will spend on just the rental of the hall. Big rip off.

ETA: I live in Woodbridge, our Elks Lodge is Awesome for stuff like this. Their rooms are really nice and the entryway is awesome, beautiful stairs and everything. You wouldnt think it was an Elks lodge.

I agree with the others. Call a VFW hall. Different ones have different prices not all halls charge the same. My sister had the reception in VFW in South River and I made all the desserts and centerpieces, my friend, a baker, made the wedding cake and we bought all the alcohol. I think the whole wedding was under $4,000.

Good Luck.
