we live in a culture where there's always someone or some thing else to blame. No one takes personal responsibility for their own screw-ups anymore. You can thank a lib for that.

If you keep getting drunk... you will...

I do and say strange stuff when I drink.. but not all the time... sometimes I am exactly myself... and I just get a bit woosy... or sloppy... when I get sloshed...

Other times.... It is like a jeckle & hide thing... I say things that I would normally only think... do things without thinking about what I am doing... when you think back the next day you think WTF ... why did I do that...

Some people use it as an excuse... either legit or fake... it is still an excuse... and being under the influence doesn't change what you did so one must accept that...

BUT trust me...just because you don't do dumb things under the influence... because of the alcohol doesn't mean others don't...

Funny thing is alcohol lets down the barriers of what we really think and want to say or do, but etiquette while sober holds us back. so in my opinion, the drunk person reveals the true person. I WAS a happy drug. I got silly when I was drunk. Used to say funny but insulting things to people, and used to seek sex like it was oxygen. I was obnoxious to some, hilarious to others. I saw quite a few angry drunks that always wanted to fight, argue, etc. Of all the people i would say have drinking problems it is the angry drunks, who must be fundamentally depressed people.

You are right take the blame when you play the game... For one good reason, they used it as an excuse and got away with it.Someone gave them an out that they now use.I would think that if you were so drunk that you acted out and didn't remember, then would you not of died from alcohol poisoning? You know what they say about excuses---well theirs worked.

Because some people have a "side" to them that only comes out when they are drunk. Sometimes it's good, but mostly not. Alcohol effects everyone differently. It's not just about you, dude.

Maybe you are an exception, but people do a lot of things when they are drunk, that they wouldn't do if they were sober. Alcohol, like other drugs, makes people stupid. It impairs their judgment, and reduces co-ordination and reflexes.

Alcohol has no redeeming social value. That's why I don't use it.

I've always thought the exact same thing. Until Halloween of last year. I went to a friends party. I started to drink (I don't drink much at all anymore). Every time there was a lag in the conversation or I felt uncomfortable I took a sip of my drink. I got so drunk that I blacked out. I didn't pass out when I blacked out though. I was still walking around. I remember I was on my way upstairs to see my boyfriend and the last thing I remember of the night is kind of banging against the wall as I tried to get upstairs. I remember nothing else. Trying to seduce my boyfriend upstairs in my friends room (I'm VERY lucky it was him, not someone else who ended up being up there), but he knew I was way too drunk, I passed out in her bed and ended up throwing up in it. All while not waking up.

The moral of the story is Know your limit! There was nothing fun or cool about not being able to recall what I did the night before. I always thought people who told stories like that were full of crap, until I became one of them.

sometimes it is easier to blame silly things on being drunk - BUT to be quite honest with you alcohol does impair your judgment, sometimes severely if you are blacked out. If you drink enough I have seen people become things they never would have hoped to be...

People do not like to take personality responsibility for anything. One major reason I joined the Libertarian Party is a major principle is the believe in personal responsibility.

Because alcohol does impair your judgement and tends to make you less inhibited. It effects everyone to different degrees and depends on the amount consumed, body weight and body water content.
