grated cheddar cheese, or my new favorite, grated colby/jack cheese. It's the kind that is both white and orange. It makes a great burrito or nachos.

We use ground beef, or sometimes shredded turkey or chicken. Cook with some taco seasoning in a skillet. Heat up some refried beans in another pot. Lay the burrito shell flat on a big plate, smear some of those beans on it, lay a line of meat on it. For the next step. we use shredded cheddar, but any cheese tastes good, just sprinkle some on top of the meat. If you want, dribble a little salsa or taco sauce with it. Fold the burrito up at the bottom, then roll across. As far as the nachos, we prefer the white cheese that's available now for melting for it. Sometimes they put it with the specialty cheeses, rather than the cheddar and mozzerella.

Velveeta cheese (dilluted with some milk), a can of rotel and a pound of ground beef,
( browned, seasoned with a taco mix seasoning packet , and of course drained very well) in the crock pot makes for the best nachos. You can chop up some lettuce tomatoes and jalapenos to top them with. But if you give me a side of guacamole and sour cream to go on top too, I will be your best friend forever.

For the burritos:

Flour tortillas (warmed or steamed)

Can of refried beans (warmed)

Cheddar cheese (or any kind of cheese, I use shredded, or crumbled, whatever I have)

Rice, fixed your favorite way

Choice of meats (cooked of course) :
Ground beeef, grilled beef fajita, grilled chicken fajita, or just whatever is on hand, I’ve made it with leftover fried chicken and rotisserie chicken. Tyson sells both beef and chicken fajitas that are “warm and serve.”

Spoon some beans on the tortilla, . If you choose to add rice in your burrito, do so now.
Spoon the meat of your choice on it, top with cheese .
Fold a bit of the bottom up so the insides won’t fall out, and then just roll it into a nice and tight burrito.
You can opt to bake it a few minutes in a preheated oven, maybe 350 for like 10-15 minutes to melt the cheese and get the tortilla a little crispy.

Serve with lettuce, tomato, guacamole, sour cream and jalapenos.
Yum!!! And so easy!!!

Ya,what they said. That is a good start.A great way to bring the burrito up a few notches is to lightly fry it in a bit of vegetable oil.
Also give burritos a lift using fresh salsa(home made is best, just chopped jalapeno peppers ,onions and tomato with a squeeze of lime, salt and pepper)

I didn't really see if anybody said anything about rolling a burrito.

This is how I do it:
Put your contents on a warmed flour tortilla in the center
Fold it from one side to the other just far enough to cover contents
Press down on edge and slide towards content until firm
Fold bottom flap up
Roll the rest of the way

Note: I warm my tortillas on the stove burner over medium heat.

it all depends on what you like. You can use just hamburger with taco seasoning and cheese with a flour tortilla. Or you can add beans and rice in the burrito. You can use carne asada or howeva you spell it. You buy it at the mexican store its steak for tacos. VERY YUMMY. soak that inat in lime with the adobe seasoning salt for a few minutes. its great for tacos too. for the burritos just use the melting shredded cheese in the dairy isle. it will melt fine in the microwave when you heat it up.

You can make them pretty much with anything. I prefer beans and ground beef. Then smother them with green or red chili and top with cheese, lettuce, tomato, black olives, sour cream, and guacamole. You can fill them with chicken, shredded beef, beans and cheese, pretty much whatever you have a taste for.
