Is this stuff just an overrated selling item that tattoo shops try to sell?
I have quite a few and lotions always worked, I was just wondering if this stuff is just a gimmik

I think it has it's place. I always use Vaseline intensive care (advanced healing) fragrance free lotion though.

I have never used it. I know some people who have and they say it's no better than any other cream.
Here in Australia it is common to use an ointment called Bepanthen which I highly recommend, but I got my last tattoo in Canada and had forgotten to take some with me so I used A & D ointment. It's the best. When I go for my next tattoo I fully intend to have my Canadian friend to send me a tube of A & D.

It's no gimmik! Tattoo Goo works fantastic. It's all natural, won't clog pores, doesn't draw out colors like petroleum base products(A&D;Neosporin)and it cuts healing time in half. I've used it on 3 of my tattoos and it cuts down on the irritation and redness. My husband has used it on his also. Big difference! I recomend Tattoo Goo to everybody I can tell it too..lol Don't knock it till you try it for yourself!
Hope this helps and good luck!

I've heard that it works really well for a lot of people, and I personally know a lot of people who swear by it. It doesn't work all that well for me. So, it probably is good, just not for every type of skin. Curel is good, Lubriderm is good, and A & D is good, for a brand new tattoo, used sparingly.

every industry has a gimmick or a well executed ad campaign. you don't have to use tattoo goo but it obviously works just as well as the other stuff. are michael jordan shoes any better than any other basket ball shoes? i'm sure neither would help me to be good at the game... it's just good marketing.

It does its job, but you might as well stick with your lotions. You'll get the same result in the long run.

I've never heard of it. A&D Ointment is the best in my personal opinion and experience.

It's a gimmick. I use Curel Ultra Healing. My artist recommended it and I can use it all over.
