I can't tell you exactly HOW to propose....
Just make it special - you will remember it as long as you live... At least SHE will!
Make it your own - I would take suggestions from a bunch of people... then put your own spin on a combonation!
It is nice to focus on the proposal BUT REMEMBER - it is the long haul of MARRIAGE that you should really be excited about!
Quick one... I will tell you how my husband and I got engaged - it might lighten the tone and make you laugh....
We were sitting on the couch watching tv one afternoon... the commercials came on and we were "mindlessly" talking. Then he just looked at me and said, "So... you wanna get married?" I laughed (thinking he was just teasing) and said - "sure...uh... why not".... I finally realized he was serious... we went out bought rings... contacted family and friends... etc.... then 3 WEEKS later we were walking down the aisle - in a church - dress and all... I am a maticulous planner!
We were NOT pregnant - but it is something we still laugh about!

You could take your girlfriend out to a nice restaurant and pretend that you are just having a normal evening out and while you are gone have like your mom or someone you trust to cover your house in red rose petals, candles, wine, and soft music playing. Also have them bake her favorite dessert and then you could put her ring in the dessert. Then pop the question. Or you could write her a sweet lovey dovey poem. You could take her out for a picnic. You could have dinner on a roof-top with soft music, rose petals, and a waiter. All these things will be very romantic to ask her to marry you.

However you choose to do it. Make sure that's it's romantic and make it a moment that you will both always remember. Some proposals are non-chalant (like mine) and others are incredibly creative. I think the creative ones with thought put into them are the best. Good luck !

I bought every bridal magizine I could find (and there are ALOT!!!!), got her favorite cake and had them write Will You Marry Me? on it, and told everyone in her family about my plan. When I brought out that cake she just MELTED. But that is just how I did it, you need to draw upon YOUR knowledge of her. Is she a romantic, or would she die of embarassment if you proposed in public. You need to make it a special moment for the BOTH of you, because you both are making the step.... together.
