Checkers is a good game for that age. Or, you could teach them "Chutes & Ladders". Or a memory game; one of which are many out there, or one you make up yourself. It could be fun!!

chess!!! are u kidding, adults can struggle to learn chess. Memory games are the best. Their are also matching games, u could use computer games. REad some activity book to get some more ideas.
