Most power plants have one thing in common.....Steam...And you with a ME license should be intelligent enough to figure that one out.

To be frank, as a fresher, it is very hard to get thro' into a power field as because the primary criteria is you should have atleast one(1) year's experience / get placed by campus interviews as i come in this evergreen field last three (3) years before.

I can suggest you to go for any of the following Two (2) options

OPTION-1

Don't mind in joining a small employer in the earlier stages, if it is a power plant based company. Join without hesitation, try to learn *** get more information / knowledge in that field.

So that Atleast you shall be prepared to answer the basic interview questions for the second big employer.

OPTION-2

You can join piping courses which will be available in metro cities.

These Big Software learning centres will have PDMS / PDS softwares along with campus facilities.

Remember, Don't go for CATIA / UNI-GRAPHICS now, when you are opted for power field. Keep in mind that these are costlier softwares costs from 25,000 Rs. to 35, 000. But the scope and salary will be great.

Always remember when you are opted for any of the above options, study study and study the power plant fundas meanwhile for better understanding.

Now the field is in BOOM next to IT & BPO...
All the best...
