I am trying to work on a limited budget. I don't want anything fancy, just nice. We are only going to have 50-75 people, if that. The reception hall is very small, so we don't need a lot of equipment. Also I just wanted pics of the wedding and the traditional after the cermony pics. thanx.

I have worked with Amy Jett on a number of occasions. Her website is www.thefeyimage.com and her work is really fantastic. I'm sure she would be more than willing to meet with you and show some of her work. I also have some of her work on my website.

I actually think she is in the Front Royal area...Congrats!!!!

Have you been attending any of the bridal shows that are prevalent this time of the year? How about word of mouth? Ask your friends and colleagues if they know of anyone who is good, but reasonable.

Best advice is that you don't skimp on the photographer, if you let your Uncle Bill take the photos because he loves to take pictures, you might not get the best photos (my brother used a friend of his for his wedding at Niagara Falls, and none of the pictures was focused properly so they would have had a book full of out of focus, blurry, too dark pix in front of the falls and in the gardens where their ceremony was held. The pix I took with my little throw away camera were better and so my sis-in-law asked for copies to put in their album!). Make sure you view samples of their work and read any testimonies regarding their service. Remember they work for you so should do the shots you want when you want, how you want, and where you want. Also, make sure you meet/talk to the actual person who will be doing your wedding. Sometimes you interview the owner of the studio and wind up getting one of their employees who know nothing about you!

As for the DJ, again check out the bridal shows in your area, ask neighbors & friends if they know soemone reliable who will play the songs you want, and more importantly not play the songs you don't want, who can introduce the bride & groom and the wedding party, if applicable, make the announcements about traditional events (cutting cake, first dance, etc.) and who has decent equipment. Most DJs charge about $250.00 - $400.00 for the first 4 hours and about $50 - $100 for every additional hour.
