The evidence is all around you. Many people believe that all creation happened due to chance or evolution. Consider these facts about our marvelous earthly home---
The earth is placed at just the right distance from the sun, its source of energy in the form of light and heat.
It moves around the sun at just the right speed, and rotates on its axis every 24 hours, and has just the correct angle of tilt.
It has a protective, life-sustaining atmosphere with just the right mixture of gases.
It provides the water and soil needed to grow food.
It provides a variety of delicious and colorful fruits, vegetables and other foods.
We also are able to enjoy the beauty that exists in the sky such as rainbows, the stars and a moonlit night.
We enjoy the mountains, the streams and lakes, the varieties of beautiful fragrant flowers, plants and trees and so many other delightful living things.
When I consider all these things and how I am able to see in living color and can taste all the foods the earth provides, then yes---God is real and all things were created by intelligent design.

The argument from ignorance is a logical fallacy. The typical answer by Christians here is something like "If god doesn't exist then (insert question here)"

All ignorance shows is that one doesn't know the answer. Ignorance is not in any way evidence for anything, let alone a god.

I just imagine when I was back in college doing proofs in Mathematics. If someone had tried to prove a theorem in the same way Christians try to prove their god. It would go something like this.

Prove x^3 + y^3 = z^3 has no non-trivial solutions for integers x,y,z. The Christian proof would go something like "It must be true look how pretty the trees are. I don't think my Math Professor would have accepted this for a proof. I don't know why Christians think it is any more logical for their god hypothesis.

By The way, I can think of several possible reasons why everything might exist not involving the God hypothesis. The one that makes the most sense to me is Physicist Max Tegmark's Theory of Everything.

There are very specific prophecies that have been fulfilled and can be verified in any encyclopedia. In the book of Daniel king Nebucadnezzar ( his existence is verified in MANY history books) had a dream. He was not a caveman but a very intelligent man. The dream bothered him so he called his magicians and sorcerers and asked them for the meaning of the dream. He told them he had forgotten the dream (but he hadn't) and he told them that if they didn't tell him BOTH the dream AND the meaning of it that he was going to kill them and their families. Well, Babylon (modern Iraq) had just conquered Jerusalem and took them captive. It was told to the king that there was one of the captives that understood dreams. So Daniel prayed and had Nebuchadnezzar's dream himself. He told the king about empires after his, ie, the Medo-Persian, Alexander the Great, and Rome. This prophecy is dated about 605 B.C.. In Ezekiel it was prophesied 3000 years ago that there would no more be a prince OF Egypt. The leaders of Egypt have not BEEN Egyptians since. Also in Ezekiel there is a prophecy against a city named Tyre. It was already ancient almost 3000 years ago and had a population about the size of 20th century New York City, America when God said, "I will scrape you off like the top of a rock. 300 years later Alexander the Great breached breached the 20 story walls and chased them offshore to their original island. He then "SCRAPED" the soil off their mainland nation and made their island a peninsula, breached those 20 story walls and destroyed them. He said Babylon will never be rebuilt - go rebuild it! These things can be verified in any good encyclopedia. read Isaiah 46 verses 9 and 10.

There is no direct proof, that is why it is a question of faith.

But how is it that in the 2000 years since Christ was on earth, nobody has come up with a better credo for living life? He also said that He is God. That either makes Him insane, or God. Do you think that a lunatic would have come up with a life philosophy that has stood the test of time like his teachings has? So He must be God.

But in the end, it boils down to faith.

This old chestnut again.

By the time I write this I see that you've had the usual stock of answers for and against, a lot of them (especially the ones against, unfortunately) speaking of what they know not, so I'll add my two cents worth.

Yes there is proof. The sticking point is in the nature of that proof - as I've said elsewhere in this site.

No, there is no definitive OBJECTIVE proof at this time.

Yes, there is available definite SUBJECTIVE proof of God - millions of people have experienced this.

This subjective proof becomes available to those open-minded enough to actually ask God in humility and sincerity.

If you genuinely want to know the truth, I recommend that you swallow any pride you may have, open your mind to all possibilities and ask God to reveal himself to you.

You may just be surprised at the results.

God bless you in your search for truth - those who seek, find.

Peace!
Jesus, the second person of the Holy Trinity. That's why he was sent to us to prove God exists. He silenced a typhoon, brought back dead people to life, walked on water, multiplied a few loaves of bread and fish so he could feed 5,000 people, gave sight to the blind, turned water into wine, ROSE FROM THE DEAD, etc. No human being has been able to do those things.
He is the only founder of a religion who said he was God. What more proof do you want?

According to the Bible, Koran, Jewish scrolls or any religious book yes god does exist, One the other hand if your an atheist, then its nothing to do with God but just good fortune that we are here. My thought are God is not God as the religious people believe(old man with a white beard and a bible, sat on his throne) , but the word God means everything that we can see touch and smell, rather than calling it God, It should be called "life force"

Yes there is proof. Look at all the things in nature that have purpose and organization. Consider the Bible's law that protect people when applied correctly help us with avoiding disease, social issues and so on. So it is wisdom and prophecy that also prove God exists. And just to much to mention here.

Skeptics will say no.

But I say... YES... where? Um, the Universe... A truly mind-blowingly enormous mass of beauty and creation that is more impressive than we can fathom.

Had to be created by something, right?!

And.. to take it a step further.. look at all the beauty that exists in our own world. Look at the way you are formed... the intricate form of something so simple as a butterfly, or an ant, or a sea lion, or a beautiful sunset, etc etc...

Some people think creation was an accident but just look at how even the tiniest of creatures are formed... intricately and beyond our comprehension... surely you must agree that these have to have been skillfully created by a higher power.
