date? doesn't really matter. hawaii... i think you might be too late. my husband's family is in hawaii and we're having a first wedding anniversary celebration. it's on july 10th. but my mother-in-law couldn't find any hotels or resorts around that date coz of the 7-7-07 thing. we had to settle for the 15th.

if you know someone from there, get that person to work. hawaii is already a difficult place to have your wedding on (they're usually booked 1 year in advance). add the superstition in, doesn't sound good. add the fact that hawaii is mostly asian (i'm filipino, husband's japanese)... asian = superstition... sounds hopeless.

you might want to consider another date. don't want to sound pessimistic... but just delivering the likely situation...

Of course if that's the date you choose, it'll be a great day. But remember the weather in Hawaii may be a little on the hot, sticky side!

But if this is the date and location you want, then stick to it!

FYI: Hawaii has two seasons, winter and summer. The main differences are the amount of rain and to a lessoer degree the temperatures. The average temperature year-round is 75º F. The warmest weather is in August and the coldest weather in January. The daytime temperature may vary 5 - 7º F. February is the most unpredictable month.

Temperatures depend on elevation. In summer, it is cooler at elevations over 2000-ft. The temperature drops three degrees for every 1000-ft of elevation. It also rains more in the mountains and upcountry areas, especially on the windward side.

The weather in the off-season travel period (April through December 15, and especially April to mid-July and September to Christmas) may actually be better than the weather during high-season. Starting in summer, from May through mid-October, daytime temperatures are in the 80s and night times from the low 70s to the low 80s. Consistent trade winds keep summer temperatures tolerable. "Konas" can blow in from the south or west and bring humid, sticky, or sweltering weather and thunderstorms. Showers are short. Days are longer.

Winter runs from mid-October through April. During this period, rains are more frequent, even on leeward coasts. Daytime temperatures at sea level are in the mid-70s to low 80s. Nighttime temperatures run from the low 60s to the low 70s. Trade winds that usually blow in from the northeast are somewhat erratic and in February, may actually cease for a few weeks.

If you haven't already got things booked call today! My guess is its too late. This day has been huge for weddings and pretty much anyone (vendors like photographers etc) are booke. Whenever there is a day like this three lucky sevens lucky 8's(oriental lucky number) the booking is done super early. You may also get charged more for a date that is in demand like this. Good Luck I personally would try the next week

CONGRATS!!! I'm in Raleigh, NC and am getting married 07/07/07. Make sure you have everything (florist, tux rental, photographer, etc) already taken care of. That way you won't be running around last minute having to settle because no one's available. Good luck to you, I hope you have a beautiful wedding!

Sure, but I would check to see if you can get it booked. I just heard the other day that 7-07-07 is going to be the biggest day for weddings.

I love feng-shui and according to that since 2004 started the era of 8, so seven is not that lucky number as most of us counts anymore. At least one 8 is preffered in any of your numbers: phone number, cell, work, car, dates and etc.

But if you look on calendar feng-shui 2007 and look up for july 7th there - it says it's a good day for doing important and urgent things, pluses for business, romantic relantioships, travel and holidays, not a good day for doing any work at home! Also it's a day Man' (reads like muh -n' in chineese) which means - BEST DAY FOR WEDDINGS, moving, and for travelling - the luck with go along with you on this day!!!

So it's up to you - it's a good day even with a lot of 7 in it on this year, but if you'll have an 8 in any of your dates it would be just better! (just for the future about number 8)

SO DO IT ON 7.7.07!!!!!

good luck

I read this is the most popular date to get married in years, so I hope you've already been planning!

It's very common this year, obviously. But it's too late to be planning if you haven't done so already. Unless it's going to be very small. Very very small. Things book quickly, especially in Hawaii.
