A yeast is a kind of single celled fungus. Certain yeasts can be put in bread to produces gases which help the bread rise during cooking, others may cause an infection in your mouth.

yeast is a little plant that multiplies when warm water is added to it. This can be bought at grocery stores and such. All real bread is made with this.
To pitch the yeast:
Put the yeast in a bowl.
Add the reccomended amount of water to is.
Add 1 TBS. of brown of white sugar. (This is the food for it)
Wait for 10 minutes until it is foamy on thp, and creamy.

Yeast is a living organism tht is used as a levening (raising) agent. It needs warmth and moisture to start the process of rising, when its bubbling and risen it is ready to use.
